White Pumpkin Still Life

I recently hosted a small dinner party in honor of my Mother's 70th birthday.  She looked amazing...and I amazingly did not give anyone salmonella.  Much happier arranging pumpkins and greenery than coordinating the meal in the kitchen.  So I'm sharing the arrangements for the evening rather than my menu...I burned the rice.

GG welcoming her guests....her couples bridge club.

Smilax and a flesh pink pumpkin in the foyer.

Loquat leaves and dried Annabelle hydrangea on the mantle.

The greenery continued in the dining room.

Loquat, fern, dried Annabelle, and smilax on the buffet.

An assortment of pumpkins and squash accented with popcorn berries.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GG

Unappreciated until now...
your ability to have a full meal warm all at once.
I still have a lot to learn from you.

Next year, may I just take you out to eat?

Happy Birthday to GG. What a lovely celebration. I myself rather fancy burnt rice. I had a Persian Room mate who made the best rice with a crispy bottom.
I am sure your Mother appreciated all your efforts.

thanks Patricia. The rice was both gummy and burned...due to me trying to hurry it up. Lesson learned.
