A hydrangea still life on my library table utilizing two vases picked up this morning at a local estate sale.
An opaline glass pedestal with a delicate gold leaf rim, just deep enough to float a single bloom.
And an etched, wide mouth crystal vase filled with wild clematis.
As as my yard winds downs for the summer, there are fewer and fewer flowers for picking. Anyone up for a Flower Potluck?! An idea hatched by the always inspiring incubator of homegrown cool, Kinfolk Magazine.
"The language of flowers is universal, and nothing could be simpler than bringing your friends together to bask in blossoms. Everyone knows how to potluck, so why not do it with blooms-a-plenty to go around? Invite your friends to bring a bunch (wild, manicured, foraged—whatever is available) of flowers, foliage and food, and spend the afternoon arranging and snacking."
