In the Ville

In the eyes of the Hartsville tree crew...the magnolia trees along Home Avenue are simply green things that stand in the way.  While out running errands yesterday I spotted the crew hard at work...surrounded by piles of fresh cut magnolia branches, ready for the landfill.

Then I thought...hey, wait a second...I'll take those home with me.

So while the work crew stared...with concern for my sanity...I shoved green branches into the trunk of my car.  Green and golden bronze leaves stand out so this time of year...against the dormant shrubs and leaf-bare trees.

Now in a vase, filling a bare corner of our dining room

And in the living room, filling the void left behind from last month's Christmas tree

Supposed to have record high temperatures the next few days.  We will be out among the trees for sure.  Have a great weekend.

Love this! You are turning pruning into art.

Gorgeous. So want a magnolia arrangement now, but don't think my trees are full enough for a haircut. May have to cruise around town looking for maintenance crews!

They are beautiful. Good for you for scooping them up! Have a great weekend. We are under a winter weather advisory calling for freezing rain. Your forecast sounds better.

Looking spectacular with your touch.... as always. You could do a book "Trimmings to Treasure".... :) Enjoy the weekend and the good weather. Finally seeing sunshine here in Geneva!
