Two Parades

Caroline Avenue looking East

Our weekend defined by two parades.  First, the annual Christmas parade down Carolina Avenue...spent with friends and family.

The main attraction, Santa, escorted by the local fire department

The second parade....around midnight.  Some of the same fire engines and police cars seen in that morning's parade again employed to escort our High School Football Team back into town after wining the State Championship that evening!  Sirens blaring, all the town aware of their victorious return.

After losing their teammate Ronald Rouse, who suffered a fatal arrhythmia during a game in October, these young men remained undefeated this season...in football, as well as in spirit.

Simply nothing better than small town America! Congratulations to the team. What a wonderful tribute to their teammate.

I love a parade! What wonderful traditions you have in your town. And I'm impressed by the strength and spirit of your local football heroes.

Looks picture perfect. I bet that Parade is something those kiddies will not forget for a long time. I really wish I could get into football man! Everyone is talking about it...I feel left out :(

our local team's loss and their victory has engaged many this year with no interest in football. This the first season of high school football I've followed since I was actually in high school....a looooong time ago ha
