Working late in the studio. Turner Classic Movie channel on in the background.
FIRST SHOWING
The Grapes of Wrath
SECOND SHOWING
The Great Gatsby
Two American classics. Is it me...or is that an interesting line-up the night before a Presidential election? One that has pitted, accurately or not, the haves and have-nots.
The tale of a man, struggling through the Great Depression,
who promises to be a "tireless advocate for the oppressed"
Followed by the tale of a coiffed tycoon and
the lavish lifestyles of the upper-class
Tuned into TCM this evening to avoid the constant prattling of the news channels this evening. Yet, I think the TV is still trying to counsel me...caution me, instruct me, I don't know.
Not making a judgement here...just thought it was curious and worth a mention. Going to sleep on it...

Interesting observation!
Have a good day,

Food for thought! I love having old movies in the background when I work, it's so comforting!
Went from thinking I need stock pile food in the basement to wanting to put on a flapper dress last night. Two very different profiles of America...I'm tucked somewhere in the middle
so leonardo decaprio is starring in the new great gatsby coming out soon-cant wait!
just be a fox news junkie like me....it's the only news outlet that doesn't descriminate!!!
sick of all the "news" channels. I want to watch news for information.....not validation.
Leonardo doesn't do it for me...he doesn't pass my body slam rule. If I could potentially body slam a guy....not manly enough
Luckily, I've had a bit of a reprieve from the "prattling" being out of the country..... but I found myself madly searching all the web news this morning.
Love your Leonardo analogy above.... makes me laugh because all I can talk about lately is how I think I could take most of the men here in Geneva.... they are the equivalent of a women's size 2! :)...... my trim guy even has to squeeze himself in an extra-large here! :)
oh no...I would still be single living in Geneva! Are they wearing skinny jeans too? That would just be too much for me to handle
Your husband mind being the local giant ha?
oh yes..... they wear the skinny jeans.... one of the best laughs I've had in a while was my husband talking our friend from the States into trying on a pair of no pleat pants at Zara last week...... let's just say the men have to be aware of being "too revealing" here too....
oh.... and believe me.... I can't stop complimenting my guy on being the "hunk" that he is..... all I need is for him to lose weight and weigh less than me! :)
terrifying......the thought of my husband being smaller than me! AND it could happen....thank you for reminding me I need to run more. Will laugh all day re the image of your hunk and friend at Zara haaaaa
Skinny jeans on men.....just pray they don't start wearing ballerina flats
Jennifer,
After two storms, two power outages and the election of 2012, I do think that the committee of sleep has me feeling more myself.
I did see something regarding the skinny jeans fashion at a time when weight is at an all time high, sort of an oxymoron.
pve
ha, indeed! Skinny jeans not meant for all. Me....ready for this trend to end
Committee of sleep....sadly there is always a committee in the bed with me. Mischief and Mayhem
