Thanksgiving Menu 1905
by American printmaker and painter

Before enjoying our Thanksgiving menu, the tables were set and the house dressed in autumn regalia.

A fall arrangement of loquat branches, rosemary, and smilax accented with popcorn (chinese tallow) berries to welcome our guests.

Loquat branches and dried palmetto

Dried Annabelle hydrangea (inspiration here) and the scent of roses and blackcurrent (via here)

The adult table

Inspiration for the gold turkeys (and sources) can be found here.  Lesson spray paint does not look like gold leaf.  I should have followed Martha's usual.

Loquat, rosemary and popcorn berries tucked into a gilded vase

The kids table

The bar set with tea and water

Lemons and fresh mint

Desserts tempting us from the sideboard

Garland of rosemary, accented with gold foil turkeys and velvet ribbon hung on the mirror.

A southern holiday staple...buttered, salted pecans (via here) scattered throughout the house

Soon it was time for our banquet...Mischief calling all to the table

Loaded with carbs and sugar...Mischief and Mayhem exploded with energy

Not appreciated by all

Until finally...Mayhem crashed

The house quiet again

Southern living at it's best. Your table is just as gracious as your heart.

So elegant and gracious, Jennifer! I love the rosemary garland. Did you make that? I hope you'll leave it up for Christmas. The girls looked beautiful. Sadly, Thanksgiving is over but now we have Christmas to look forward to ~

What a lovely day, thanks for sharing it with us. Your home looks absolutely beautiful - I love the touches of green, especially the rosemary. And I see that we share the same china pattern! Glad you enjoyed such a gorgeous celebration. XO

Thanks Jeanne. Funny about the china ha....the golden edge pattern goes with all doesn't it. I have salad plates in Queen Victoria and some odds and ends in other patterns...mixes so well

Gorgeous! I too love the rosemary garland, and also the hanging basket on your front door. The photo of your dad plugging his ears is a hoot!
