Tears of a Clown

via here
The White Pierrot
by Pierre-Auguste Renoir
circa 1902

The Sad Clown
circa 1975
That's me...at our community Halloween Carnival.  Outfitted in a clown costume my Mother had made for me.  She was so proud...I had just WON the best costume contest.

Why such a sad clown?  I won for best BOY costume!  And for my humiliation...a box of chocolate covered cherries.

Mischief and Mayhem will be a princess and a kitty cat this year...no gender neutral costumes.  AND definitely...no clowns.

Oh my goodness!!! You and your costume look adorable though. Plus, a win is a win. Ha.

ha, indeed...a win. Can't wait to see T's costume this year...it never disappoints

PS: I see Mayhem in your 2 year old face, and I love it!

believe it or not...it took this picture for me to see it. Have decided to let her bowl cut hair grow out...no more little girls looking like little boys. The cycle ends here ha

Ha, you are so funny! M's hair cut is adorable...no mistaking any of the Webb girls for boys. Unless they are wearing a jester costume.

I agree..... I can't believe how much "Mayhem" looks like you! Precious little pumpkin you were.... perhaps it was the shoes? :) Have fun with your little kitty and princess this evening!

okay, so Mom just called....and elaborated that I wasn't just sad, that I was really "ripped" that night ha. Not happy at all

Crissy: she too commented by perhaps it was the shoes....she said she was laughing as she scrolled down ha. Pictures of my sister and I from this time only cute from the knees up...not the only pic of us in hideous shoes

Oh no! Not the happiest Halloween memory. Hope the Kitty and the Princess fare better this evening. Have so much fun! XO

I had the same hair cut and people always told my mother what a beautiful boy I was.

awww, that is so cute. You didn't know it then, but dressing like a boy is tres chic!

Kayce: you broke the cycle ha. No mistaking your beautiful girls for little boys....I buy whatever your little blond models on your site for my girls.

Michelle: within a year of that picture I would have much preferred to be a little boy. Age of refusing to wear dresses
