In the Studio: Crapola

To the client...
"Mr. Wonderful"
who waited until the last minute so that now I have to
work all night and through the WEEKEND, this is total...
"Crapola"

Next time you request the impossible in 24 hours,
the answer will be...
"NO"

All paintings above from artist Wayne White's word series...expertly painted words rendered on vintage landscapes.  If you're familiar with his work, you know I could have made this an "R-rated" post.  Was I tempted....
"Fraid So"

I'll keep those words to myself...and "in the studio"

ha Loi! I can handle the weekends now and then...nature of my job. But I'm getting too old for the nights that last until the early morning hours....need caffeine via IV drip

Well, at least you haven't lost your sense of humor (yet!) Good luck to you and keep that coffee coming! Hope you get to sleep soon. XO

Funny how some people have the ability to make THEIR problem your problem.

And too many times they are forgiven, coddled, pacified...until they are conditioned into believing that they are somehow entitled to special treatment. In fact, they are shocked when told "no."

Coddled, spoiled, selfish...is it a power trip to get you to do their bidding or are they so infantile and starved for attention that they will create a scene just to get noticed?

This standard line from them is irksome: "I've just been sooooo busy, busy, busy."

Can you tell this is a pet peeve of mine? I have served on so many volunteer committees with this type that I have a very short fuse. In fact, I've reached a point where I tell the chairman, "I'll post the posters all over town but only if I do ALL of them. I don't want to find posters in someone's car trunk after the event is over."

Sorry for the rant but you hit a nerve. ;-)

ha Gail...."fraid" I definitely touched a nerve. Yes, we've taught people they can get away with waiting until the last minute. With this project, I could have asked for help but as you said...often best to handle yourself, just creates another person to manage.

The race is on this weekend for round two
