In the Garden-Don't fight Mother Nature

via here

Succulents cast with gypsum cement by artisan
Michelle Weddle of Waterstone Succulents via Etsy
(found via Anthology Magazine)

Each summer, the urn by our backdoor is filled with algerian ivy and a white geranium.  And each summer...both are fried in the summer heat

Too busy being a Mother to fight Mother Nature, I recently filled our urn with drought and heat tolerant succulents.  Like the cast succulents featured above...nearly indestructible

Much more welcoming than a crispy tangle of ivy and spent blooms

Like a living sculpture outside our door

Composed of various colors and textures...sheet moss filling the voids

Succulents have slowly replaced my indoor plants as well...but that's another post

Love your new display it looks cool and fresh. I may take a leaf out of your book for a couple of our planters which always get fried too.

Thanks y'all....fingers crossed that Father Winter doesn't challenge Mother Nature this winter. Will blanket my succulents during frost just in case

I think you need to meet Julie Lorusso over at Monkey Grass Hill. I think I need some succulents in my life or in my wire urns.
