Friday Flowers-Nature's Graffiti

Late summer, every year a familiar scent permeates the humid air.  The smell of the wild invasive weed or a flowering vine?  Like art, its beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

A weed I can tolerate in our grows along the edge of driveway, spreading vigorously in a cloud of fragrant white blooms.  Also known as Sweet Autumn Clematis, it signals the approach of fall.  While invasive, it is easily controlled by cutting it back to the ground after flowering...remaining dormant until the following summer.

Mischief and I brought some of Mother Nature's graffiti inside this evening, savoring its perfume

Atop a table on the stair landing

Its beauty in its wildness, its tendrils allowed to fall where they may

How lovely! I think Mischief is a natural with flowers. Beauty certainly is in the eye of the beholder, and I think this "nature's graffiti" is quite pretty. A reminder to look for the beautiful in unexpected places! XO

Mine are fat with buds, but not blooming yet. Maybe another week. I will copy you and bring some inside. Thanks for the inspirations.
