Botanical print featuring fern fronds by
German artist Anton Seder (1850-1916)
found via here
A simple arrangement from my shade garden (in progress, hope to share soon.) Two fronds from an autumn fern...a shade loving perennial which can grow up to 2 ft. tall, spreading to 18-30 inches. I've planted twenty in hopes of a tapestry of green and bronze next year
Equally good specimens indoors...here in a crystal compote , poised above the sofa
Have a great weekend, hope you have time to sit in the shade

Ah, the wisdom of Jane. Gorgeous shady ferns you are cultivating. The sun has actually come out of hiding today so I'll be looking for a little shade to paint in.
Have a lovely weekend! XO
My weekend begins early. Our small circle of friends (about 20 confirmed for today's get-together) meet periodically, but usually once a month. We're all in our 60's and 70's so we keep a watchful eye on each other making sure no one is sitting home alone if they simply need a ride. It's a good group and today's "restaurant" is a lady's backyard with roses in bloom.
Have a lovely weekend enjoying your handsome husband and adorable little girls.
"painting in the shade" and fellowship in a "backyard with roses"....sounds like everyone has a marvelous weekend planned
Gail: 20 ladies getting together, fun....sounds like a party! Enjoy
Hi Jennifer,
I'm delighted to find your blog! Thanks so much for your recent visit to mine. So sorry for the delay...I am currently on holiday in Sweden. Such a coincidence you posted on ferns: I love the birch, pine, moss and fern woodlands here in Sweden. These woodlands are everywhere. Looking forward to reading your old posts when I return to DC.
Cheers,
Loi
