"Because, I'm an old Southern woman and we're supposed to wear funny looking hats and ugly clothes and grow vegetables in the dirt...
I don't know why, I don't make the rules"

Ready for the Chapeau Luncheon. My hat and chicken salad both dressed with roses
Hat embellished with Jude the Obscure rose, verbena and variegated algerian ivy from our yard
Salad dressed with a tomato rose
Tutorial below. I recommend you have a sharp knife and don't wait until midnight (after too much mountain dew) to try this...tired and jittery hands do not make for pretty petals
Planted my own tomatoes this week, hopefully I'll have plenty to practice on this summer

Can't wait to hear what Mischief had to say as you left for your Garden Club Chapeau Luncheon.
she was at preschool...but was aware that I was going. Upon her return she only inquired if I brought her a treat from my "meeting"....and then asked "why do Mommies wear bras?" Never a dull day
Inquiring minds. Almost causes a whiplash when those questions come out of left field. You wonder, "What the heck? Where did that come from?"
Work has to come first but I wondered if you got any pictures you could share from your Chapeau Luncheon. Any chance of sharing that chicken salad recipe too?
Gail: recipe for disaster is working late and then trying to cook. So I purchased the chicken salad...from my favorite local eatery
