"Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day-like writing a poem or saying a prayer"
We hosted our monthly Appetizer Club over the weekend. Like a supper club but without all of the formality and effort. We skip right to the fun part...easy to eat food and cocktails!
Speaking of easy, I needed an easy and informal arrangement for our table. I looked to my old school file (prior to the days of Pinterest) of ideas for inspiration and came across this...saved years ago, sadly I don't remember the source.

With upcycling in mind, I purchased a hosta that I could plant in the yard after its use as our centerpiece. I pulled some fern fronds already in our yard, wired them to floral picks and inserted them into the hosta. Easy, quick and reusable
While recycling our evening's refuse, I admired this simple yet interesting bottle. Upcycled, it's now a charming vase

Next time we host Appetizer Club, we'll be serving Tanqueray...so I can have this vase made!

Wow! I'm impressed..... appetizers instead of dinner.... yes! and your arrangement turned out better than your inspiration! Wish I had been invited :)
Thanks Crissy. You are more than welcome to visit us in Smallville USA...if I can be invited to Switzerland!
I have a morning ritual and after I unload the dishwasher I say hello to all my flowers and green friends and arrange them with care. I have a small silver bud vase that is right on my bathroom vanity.
It makes me think of my wedding....as it was a gift.
Do share your apps recipes!

Great thing about appetizer club....each guest brings their own to share. Easy and stress free entertaining
Such clever ideas. The greens of the hostas and ferns look so fresh. And love the appetizer club. Sounds like fun! XO

Without preaching, what lovely life lessons you're teaching your little girls. Everything from recycling, to the importance of being with friends, to enjoying live plants.
thanks Gail...they have taught me me more
