Hark!

HARK, THE HERALD ANGELS SING

Work above by American artist, naturalist and teacher Abbott Handerson Thayer (1849-1921.)  His work is found among the great American collections.

As a naturalist he helped save forests and birds...and interestingly, men as well,  for he is known as the "father of camouflage."  He, along with his son, published the book "Concealing Coloration in the Animal Kingdom" which was widely accepted and referenced by the military during his lifetime.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today! I know you treasure your portrait drawn by Ms. Plunket. :D Nice post about Thayer. I love his angels and his virgins. His landscapes are stunning, too.
